About Me
Hi, my names Alicia. I am a fully qualified counsellor who specialises in working with Children and Young People. I am also a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I feel extremely passionate about creating a confidential, safe space for children and young people to feel comfortable enough to open up and to share their problems. When we talk about our thoughts and feelings, they can become less overwhelming and scary.
For me, my experience mainly comes from working with children, young people, and families in various settings, such as nurseries, primary and secondary schools and providing extra care and support to these groups. I have experience in working with several charities such as Help! Counselling, Women’s Self Injury support and Mencap.
Due to working with this age group, I have been fortunate enough to have conversations with many children and young people about their experiences and had an insight to the many difficulties that children are facing. It is important for them to be able to access the support they need through these challenging times.
As a Relational Integrative counsellor, I care deeply about the relationship I establish with the people who come to see me for therapy. I see each client as an individual and sensitively tailor different approaches to each person’s specific needs. My focus is to offer a safe space for clients to explore their own story to make sense of it and for them to feel recognised and valued.
I work with clients for however long they need to resolve what is going on for them. The counselling is open ended with the option for you to come back if you wish to do so.
